With very few exceptions, search dogs are owned and trained by private citizens, volunteers, who must pay out of pocket for the dogs and years of training.
Dogs with the special skills that search and rescue demand are expensive, costing between $1,500.00 and $6,500.00. The training carries a high cost as well, averaging as much as $10,000.00 or more.
DONATE now to help the Search and Rescue Foundation provide replacement dogs for those lost due to death, illness, or retirement. Your tax deductable donation will also help offset training and other dog related expenses.
SPONSOR A DOG—You can also sponsor a dog for more personal connection with a search and rescue dog and handler. We will send you a picture of the dog you sponsor along with a bio and service record. The handler will provide regular updates about the dog and alert you when the dog is called into service.
